A member asked:

Its been 2 weeks since i first tested positive for covid19. symtoms have passed, but i keep getting a positive pcr test result. when can i expect to get a negative result( i need it for travel) and does this positive result indicate my health is bad?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

PCR test can remain positive for months due to dead virus in the nasal passages. The positive does not mean that you have illness nor that you are contagious. If an antigen test is acceptable for clearance for travel, you should try to get that.
