A member asked:

20f chronic pain for two years in my spine. my recent xray showed sclerosis of l5-s1 facet joint which can be due to degenerative change. and minimal anterior osteophytes of the mid thoracic spine. i was wondering what this could indicate or mean?

Having degenerative changes in spine at age 20 is unusual. Best you see an orthopedist for exam and co-relation with Xray findings. Hope you feel better.

If you have not had prior injury, your X-rays are unusual for your age. Blood studies might explain your symptoms. This would benefit from a visit to a physiatrist, and plans to engage in a rehabilitation program. Physical therapy and eventual exercises might provide excellent approaches to cope with and manage the pain.
