Thank you doctors. infected with hsv1, do i need to take medicine if i have no symptoms and not feeling an outbreak? or is meds only for symptoms? should i take meds to prevent future problems like eye herpes or any other issues caused by herpes?

There is no cure for hsv but there is antiviral therapy for prevention of outbreaks or to treat actual outbreaks. You can spread the infection from one part of your body by touching outbreak lesions and then touching yourself in another part of your body. Worldwide 90% of people will test positive for hsv1.
