Which is more likely to affect platelet count- a sinus infection or salivary gland swelling (blockage or tumor) ? my platelets are usually normal. it was 420. i did have sinus infection prior to labs. this was last question i had. i see pcp next wk?

Elevated Platelets by themselves can be used as an “inflammatory marker” in the same way ESR, CRP, and ferritin are. However, they can indicate a type of blood cancer or myeloproliferative disorder, other Cancers, vascular disorders, infection, and rheumatology diseases
