A member asked:

I think my mum experienced disassociative amnesia last night. she remembered nothing, & asked the same questions over & over. she was in distress until i separated her from ppl. it took 6hrs to break the loop. can she relapse? what do i do now?

It would be prudent to consult a neurologist to ascertain if she may be in early stage of dementia. It is a hard issue to address but early intervention may be helpful. Wish you and your mum good health!

Among others, a stroke or an absence seizure may need to be ruled out. Seeing a neurologist, as Dr Singh suggested, would be the next best step as having a better plan going forward.
