Neurologist should get involved if there is suspicion of a pinched nerve over neck and/or back, and concern for possible spinal cord compression. Analgesics, such as NSAID's, muscle relaxers, and even nerve pain suppressant medications could be employed. Have found physical therapy and McKenzie exercises to be highly beneficial.
