A member asked:

Could long standing empty sella syndrome, caused by intracranial hypertension, cause hirsutism - especially black hairs growing on neck and chin. could correction of iih & empty sella stop the hirsutism? thank you?

Hard to objectify, and would urge a full pituitary reserve study and endocrine screen. Typically empty sella syndrome is NOT associated with change in pituitary function; and intracranial hypertension (Pseudotumor Cerebri) can be secondary to hormonal or endocrine causation and this may well be the direction to pursue.
