Earlier surgery might have saved the testicle, but impossible to know for sure. You did nothing wrong. This will not harm your fertility or sexual functioning: one testicle is plenty! You could have a prosthesis inserted, to replace the damaged one and replicate the feel and look of a normal testicle. Discuss with your urologist, and your primary physician to address your sadness. There is incomplete and complete torsion. In complete torsion the testicle dies within 3-4 hours if not corrected. In incomplete torsion there is a longer window of its survival, depending on the degree.. You cant help what happened in the past. But you have a good and normally functioning testicle producing hormones and sperms . Wearprotective support when playing contact sports. U'll be OK
