A member asked:

Am i smart, if the learning curve has been met, to choose an endodontist having an operating microscope & microsurgical equipment to do future root canals and other endo surgeries versus one who has none? mine does not at this time. (??

Endodontists have gone through additional training to diagnose and treat teeth needing root canal therapy, and are all held to the same standard. An endodontic microscope is a tool, but not absolutely necessary to complete the procedure successfully. You should chose the practitioner who makes you feel most comfortable. That would be the smart thing to do.

A specialist Endodontist, whether using an Endodontic Microscope, a CBCT, orally other diagnostic tool, is exquisitely trained to do root canal treatment. Gadgets are great, but nothing outweighs a practitioners training and experience.
