That's : I think it means just what he said--it's healing. Root canals are done to treat diseased teeth, which often create disease in the bone and soft tissues around them. Not all root canals have the desired effect--meaning they fail. If healing is happening in your case, it means the tooth, bone and soft tissues are getting better--the disease is going away. Your root canal was a success.

Bony fill: More specifically, the treating endodontist probably noticed on a followup xray that a previously less dense area of bone has re-calcified. When bone adjacent to a previously diseased tooth re-calcifies like this, it is the hoped for response and referred to as healing. Congratulations!

Asymptomatic: He means firstly that you.Are comfortable. Secondly, the tissue around the tooth looks healthy. There is no sensitivity on percussion or palpating. And finally, on x-ray, thr bone looks good and dense at the root end!

No more disease: The purpose of endodontic treatment is to cure a disease known as apical periodontitis. When the dentist reevaluates your tooth 6 months or longer after treatment they are comparing your present condition to your pretreatment condition. This includes x-rays and clinical exam. Improved boney support and lack of symptoms usually mean that the tooth has returned to a healthy state. Congratulations!
