A member asked:

I had 2 echo done days apart. one says ef 50-55 with diastolic dysfunction grade 2 and the 2nd says ef 60-65 with diastolic dysfunction grade 1. how can you get two different diagnostics only two days apart?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Did the same people do& interpret the 2 studies? I would attribute these differences to the eyeballing and the inherent measurement variability by the interpreters. Also acoustical quality may vary depending upon the ultrasonographer's or technician's experience & ability. I don't place much significance in grade 1 DD by echocardiography.
