US of the lower extremity for DVT should state as "Duplex ultrasound for deep venous thrombosis of lower extremities or either leg". Is LTD a typo? The usual term is LCD for billing purpose.

It does not, it sounds like a test limited (ltd)to soft tissue not looking for clots inside the veins. Many times the designation is for billing purposes, most of the time the test is meant to rule out and the tech will look for clots as well.
