A member asked:

If uti symptoms improve or disappear (before antibiotics is prescribed), do i still need to take the antibiotics once the urine culture test is done and bacteria is present (based on sample 5 days old)?

No, if the symptoms are resolving with hydration you do not need to take antibiotic regardless of the urine culture result.

Since simple UTI's in females can resolve without treatment and since you have no symptoms, I recommend sending off another urine culture and colony count to document whether your UTI has cleared or not.
