If you got the covid vaccine(both shots) but no booster does that mean that you are not protected because it waned? so, it would be like not never getting the vaccine in the first place. the booster is just the same thing trigger an immune response?

I answered your previous question, I think. You are somewhat protective after 2 shots in theory and in reality. In theory, after vaccinated your body have memory B and T cells which are quickly mobilized to produced the antibody if you are infected. However, how long these cells last we do not have a definite answer. In reality, after 2 shots you can still be infected but the disease is mild.

Protection wanes with time, even after two shots, though you do retain some protection. Get a booster to improve your immunity to Covid.
