A member asked:

How long after isolating for covid 19 should i look out for symptoms of complications and other issues like cytokine storm ? i just ended my 14 day quarantine a few days ago and i had mild covid with mild pneumonia?

The inflammatory reaction (cytokine storm) is most often seen at the height of the infection. For many this is the 5th-8th day from symptom start. It would not be expected during mild disease or after the 14 day period specified.

Agree with Dr. Ferguson. You are past the period of risk for severe disease. If you have been afebrile for more than 24 hours, without taking anti fever medication, you may resume your normal activities. Get Covid vaccination in about 6 weeks. Wish you good health!

Cytokine reactions occur early and would not be expected after 10-14 days and can be blocked by steroids and even anti-inflammatory drugs Some evidence of value of sufficient vitamin D-3 levels
