Yes, chronic fatty liver can progress to NASH and liver cirrhosis. You can minimize the risk by weight loss with diet and exercise to keep BMI below 25, controlling blood pressure and lipid levels, get vaccinations for preventing viral hepatitis. Alcohol is absolutely contraindicated.

Agree with Dr. He. It is imperative that you lose weight through diet and exercise to avoid the lesion from getting worse. For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.
