I have gallstones with daily mod. ruq pain, severe with vomiting every couple weeks. symptoms never seem severe enough to go to er but persistent pain and inability to eat much is awful. consult not for another 2 months, should i do something sooner?

With that history you should have the gallbladder taken out as soon as possible. Fortunately, you have not ended up with cholecystitis or bile duct obstruction with stone. Appointment for the surgical consult and then waiting time for elective surgery could be long due to the pandemic. I would suggest ER visit then you can be admitted for the surgery within 24 hours.
