A member asked:

What are the chances of becoming positive with covid, if you have had vaccines and booster?

These appear to increase with each new strain that emerges. The vaccines appear to offer good protection against death or severe illness in most recipients. However, I believe everyone will eventually become infected with a strain over the next months/years. Asymptomatic carriers and domestic/international air travel assure that a mix of the new strains are always circulating.

You can't hide from all the variants that are emerging even if one is vaccinated. You have built up antibodies and the ones who are reinfected show mild forms except the immunocompromised. Out in the public, or with those who are vaccinated or unvaccinated you will always be at risk. Take all precautions and always wear a mask .Stay at home and not in the pubs.

Risk of getting infected is high and given the right variant may be all vaccinated people are susceptible, however, fully vaccinated and boosted, otherwise healthy, people are essentially protected from hospitalization and death. Wish you good health!
