A member asked:

Should you receive the same covid-19 booster as the original two doses or choose a different vaccine?

According to CDC, it appears permissible to take any one of the three vaccines for a booster, even though there seems to be some differences between them. If it were me, I would try to obtain the original vaccine when a booster was provided.

It depends on what your first vaccine was and if you had any reaction with it. If your first vaccine was J&J then response is better with a Moderna or Pfizer booster and for younger women in particular there would be less risk of rare blood clots. Younger men concerned about rare cardiac side effects might prefer the J&J booster. Of note, the Moderna booster is a half dose, Pfizer a full dose.
