A 49-year-old male asked:

What would be a good heart rate for exercise such as a brisk walk. would 120 to 130 be okay?

Your predicted maximal heart rate is around 170 beats per minute. It is generally recommended that approximately 60-65% of your predicted maximal heart rate be achieved and maintained for the duration of your activity. Better to get there gradually if you are not used to brisk activity. Most importantly. get "clearance" from your doctor before you proceed. Good luck.
