A member asked:

I've always had soft skin (ie getting cardboard cuts) but suddenly i'm getting a lot more cuts, grazes, & gouges in my skin from minor things. even shaving (same technique and fresh razors) is a danger, now. should i be concerned and/or see my dr?

Factors that determine skin strength include general state of health, age (older skin repairs itself slower than younger skin), dietary factors, stress on the injury site (such as friction), whether or not you smoke or take medications, and pre-existing medical conditions. You should have a discussion with your doctor to determine if anything has changed to make your skin more fragile.
