Does having recurrent bacterial vaginosis typically lead to further medical issues? like pid, miscarraige, etc.?

Good question. The answer isn't certain. BV may increase the risk of PID, but probably only if gonorrhea or chlamydia also is present. Probably no effect on the chance of miscarriage, but maybe elevated risk of premature labor. BV also raises the risk of HIV and other STIs if sexually exposed. It's usually possible to prevent recurrent BV: consider finding an ObG who specializes in infections.
