Is MD sure it's BV?: This type of infection must be cultured and conclusive given the 5 year history of its'" presence." Yes, PID can occur when certain types of bacteria are "massaged" during intercourse through the cervix into the uterus and fallopian tubes. A GYN MD is your best bet for vaginal infection accuracy, and if you have been seeing one, acquire a 2nd opinion(& culture) from another.
