A member asked:

Does bacterial vaginosis cause pid?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not exactly: The presence of untreated bacterial vaginitis can be 'massaged" into the cervix and thus the Fallopian tubes resulting in Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID). However, early bacterial vaginitis that is properly treated usually does not produce PID. More notable causes of PID include the range of sexually transmitted diseases. (STD's)
