I am pregnant with my second baby. i started out overweight at 170ibs at 5'4. i am currently 24 weeks pregnant & weigh 188ibs. is it true that obesity increases the chance of a c-section? first baby was born naturally with no issues at 181 ibs?

True, obesity increases the risk of C section. Regarding your case because this is not the first pregnancy and you were also heavy with the first pregnancy so I think you should be fine, much less risk of C-section compared with the first one. However, you should closely watch your blood pressure and blood sugar.
