Can a t5 compression fracture cause back and chest pain?

Yes it can cause local pain in the upper midline along the spine. A referred pain in the chest can arise due to the compression of the nerve roots which travel along the ribs and can cause chest pain along the nerve route.

Absolutely, relatively common cause for chest and back pain. Unfortunately other contributing or alternate causes for pain are still possible and make difficult the assessment in such circumstances.

Yes. Compression fracture can cause these symptoms. However, it needs to ascertained as to why do you have compression fracture. It is from osteoporosis, multiple myeloma, metastatic tumor or other cause. The underlying issue needs to be addressed by your doctor. Wish you good health!

Yes, as has been mentioned by my colleagues, local mid back pain and referred pain to the chest does indeed occur. Would repeat advice to evaluate any potential risks for future bony injuries, as potential problems need to be considered.
