A member asked:

Brain mri results: signs of hypoplasia in the parahippocampal gyrus, left temporal lobe anteromedial area. suffering from m.depression/panic attacks for 14 years. did depression cause this? or can it be a sign of early dementia?my memory is quite bad?

Complexities need full neurological evaluation. The MRI findings are likely old, perhaps even gestational in origin. Depression and anxiety do NOT cause structural brain changes. Dementia can be secondary to multiple causes, so, all of this needs a thorough assessment.
