Is it safe to take a course of levaquin several times a year? i have chronic recurrent utis and it's the only effective antibiotic. is a course of 5 levaquin pills a few times a year safe?

You should only take antibiotics when you symptoms and after a urine culture test and under the supervision of a Urologist. It is safe to take it several times a year if it is indicated . Try increasing water intake, voiding when you get the urge, keeping the genital area clean and avoiding constipation. It will help prevent recurrences. Good luck
