A member asked:

I take .25 mg clonazepam twice a month as needed for pmdd, since around march of this year. but now i'm finding that, despite how infrequent this dose is, i'm getting used to it! is this normal? i'm deeply afraid of addictions?

What do you mean when you say you get used to it? Does it mean that you do not feel the difference after taking the pill or your symptoms are getting worse after the effect is over and you feel the need to retake it, i.e. addicted. Yes, you can get addicted to Clonazepam even with this low frequency dose. Besides, I wonder why your doctor decided to use clonazepam in your case.

Over time, tolerance is to be expected, whereupon, side effects will diminish, as will efficacy prompting need for increased dosages. Habituation would be the more likely outcome, although true addiction could occur. Since clonazepam is classified as a drug of abuse, suggest you discuss appropriateness for your situation.
