A 28-year-old female asked about a male:

I laid my 4-mo baby in his crib, i left the room & returned shortly, then i heard him loudly gasp/shriek and then started big crying. he seems fine now. im unsure what he was doing before i returned, but hes trying to roll often. what happened??

WE do not have telescopic or super vision here. You may want to get a video recorder to see if you can figure out what happened. Gut gas?, jolted awake by noise? hungry? Got arm caught in crib? are a few guesses. Observe and take good notes.

I suspect he either burped or farted. Distention of the GI tract with a big bubble of air can make a baby do exactly as you describe, and by the time you got in there, everything was already over. Make sure to Burp well after feeds, and even in between feeds if baby has been active/awake and may have swallowed air!🙎‍♂️😳
