Vocal cord paralysis: If the voice is weak and breathy and occasional food aspiration with coughing intervention is warranted. Thyroplasty is one of the main procedures to bring the paralyzed vocal cord to a more medial position allowing better glottic closure. Another alternative is a vocal cord injection with a filler such as radiesse.
