Im 29 and wife and i still have plans to have more kids. are there any potential risks from getting the covid vaccine that could possibly cause potential birth defects?

Every pregnancy starts out with a 3-5% chance of having a birth defect. Getting COVID vaccine will NOT increase the chance of birth defects. Fever is a possible side effect of any vaccines. A high fever in the first trimester can increase the chance of certain birth defect.

No nothing in the vaccine that would do that. You & your wife should get vaccinated! More risk to unborn child from COVID itself before or after birth

There is more risk by not getting the vaccine. If any of you get COVID than your body is at risk for many problems, you want to make sure both of you are very healthy. Your family history should be checked if you are concerned about birth defects.
