A member asked:

I'm 18 weeks pregnant & planning to get the covid vaccine. most of the covid vaccine data i have found online is of women in their third trimester. would it be a better idea to wait until i am in my third trimester to get the vaccine?

Not particularly. Antibodies you build and share with baby will be present either way. While I am leary about use in the first 12 wks, I have no issue at your stage.

By now all the organs have formed and the baby is getting bigger. Taking the vaccine will protect the baby for the first six months or so from your antibodies being transferred to the baby, a normal process. Wish you good health and a healthy baby!
