Angina is a descriptive label for chest pain due to ongoing injury to the heart. It is crushing in nature. An elevated heart rate may accompany angina, but it is not the same thing. At your listed age of 23 I would look to other reasons for a rate change than heart issues.

Angina refers to chest pain or shortness of breath with physical activities mostly, the increased heart rate is many times compensatory in order to sustain activities and/or emotional states among others. Talk to your doc about your worries.
