I am coming down from 60mg cymbalta to 30mg and have been feeling the nausea and sickness of withdrawal. doc also started me on 2mg abilify. being treated for anxiety, pain, and depression. how to best taper off cymbalta? could anti-nausea med help?

I am not sure it is "withdrawal" per se. Cymbalta is an anti-depressant and anti-depressants commonly help the autonomic nervous system function better. Not uncommonly patients with depression/anxiety experience nausea. Withdrawal from anti-depressants is a real think though so we have a bit of a dilemma. One might take 60 one day and 30 the next and slow down the taper to see if it helps

Abilify belong to antidepressant augmentation agents which are used to augment the effect of an antidepressant medication such as Cymbalta. What is the reason your doctor wants you to wean off Cymbalta?
