Gait disturbances can be caused by a variety of problems. The most common are orthopedic and neurologic. A full orthopedic exam can rule out the more functional causes of gait disturbances. A full neurologic workup can be more involved, requiring Imaging of the brain and spine. Final diagnoses should be made after full workups.
