I have sudden pain in my left wrist/forearm. this is completely new for me, and i don't think i injured myself or did anything out of the ordinary. it hurts enough that it occasionally makes me nauseous. no numbness/tingling/swelling?

It could be referred pain from some other location. With out more information it is hard to determine the cause

It is unusual to have pain that severe without a known injury. It is reassuring that you do not have any of the mentioned associated symptoms. However, pain that severe warrants evaluation.
