Either is possible!: It may be of similar origin. At times, problems with altered sensation in hands could be related to metabolic or endocrine problems that could affect multiple parts of the body as well as nutritional or electrolyte imbalance among others. While these two problems may also be very likely of separate sources, an electrodiagnostic study and consultation with a neurologist will likely be helpful.
