My mom had breast cancer when she was 29, and relapsed at 47 and passed on. my risk of having it should be high. how can i prevent that? ( fyi i have fibroids in breast that causes pain eventhough im not yet near my period?

You may wish to get a genetic test to ascertain if you inherited genetic propensity for breast cancer. If you did, you doctor will need to discuss the options with you. Wish you good health!

With your family history of a "prime relative (your mother)" having breast cancer, and the likelihood of your having (benign) fibrocystic disease of the breasts, making if difficult to see early potential cancer calcifications, it is justified to get annual digital mammography and even MRI of your breasts if the mammograms are not definitive. Early treatment is essential in cases such as yours.
