A 25-year-old female asked:
I have been diagnosed with functional dyspepsia. i have morning nausea, lower abdomen burning and loss of appetite. my doc gave me amitriptyline 12.5 mg and then 25 mg but that made me sleep 18+ hours for a week. is it worth asking for 5mg/10mg?

If you achieved benefit from the amitriptyline then I would ask your prescribing physician to lower the dose as you suggest. I assume you're not pregnant. On the other hand if your symptoms are persistent I recommend consulting a gastroenterologist for accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
