A member asked:

I had a tongue tie and it was done with surgical blade how long will it take to be completely healed? what are the measurements that your tongue has to stick out, touch the top of your mouth and etc. to see if it was done right?

You should be pretty much pain freeing a week, and mostly healed in two. There are no measurements to "Know" if the surgery was successful. Trust to the training and competence of your surgeon.

A laser surgery for tongue tie heals much faster, a blade takes 12- 16 days. If you can stick your tongue out enough to lick your chin below your lower lip and high enough to lick your hard palate than your surgery was successful.
