My dog has just been dx'd w/lymphoma and will undergo treatment w/same drugs for humans. what sort of safety precautions do i need to take to avoid exposure to those chemicals? can i still hug her and give her kisses?

Hugging yes, Kissing maybe. Discuss with your vet as you did not mention which drugs.

I would say, with "most" medications (that are non-radioactive), yes ... you can still show your dog affection without worrying. However, since I do not know what your dog has been prescribed, it would be wise to speak with your vet about this so that you can know with more certainty, what your dog is being treated with, and if there are any limitations (both for you and your pet).
