It could be either scenario-breast cancer can be painless, cause pain when touched only or cause constant pain, depending on size and location of the cancer. The best way to diagnose breast cancer is with a mammogram. Monthly self breast exams as well as yearly physician exams can also help in the diagnosis. See your doctor for any breast concerns. Good luck to you!

Pain is not a reliable sign in breast cancer that in early stages is painless. Once pain develops, it remains unpredictable due to hormonal and mechanical variations. Early imaging is critical in guiding diagnosis and management.
