Polycystic ovarian syndrome, PCOS, means you have tendency to form many small ovarian cysts, this can delay normal ovulation. Also delayed or absent periods, or more frequent flow. Monitoring is correct plan. Fertility can be decreased if not treated. You will need to see a doctor who understands PCOS, to follow-up and develop the best treatment plan.

The absence of periods at age 19 is not normal. You may have "polycystic" ovaries, which deserve evaluation by a trusted board-certified gynecologist. Good luck!
