My left nipple stings from time to time during the day. the stings are subtle. i dont have any lumps and i dont have any changes in the nipple. what could be the reason?

This is a very nonspecific symptom. Nipples are subjected to frequent friction, dryness from detergents,& reaction to bra materials. An irritable superficial nerve wouldn't be unusual. If you still have concerns, have an examination by your physician, gynecologist or a breast surgeon.
