Plan B, is emergency contraception you take within 48-72 hours after every episode of unprotected sex. It contains a high level of hormones that interfere with the implantation of a fertilized embryo. It should not be used regularly as the levonorgestrel can have side effects. For multiple sexual encounters over a period of weeks or months, you should consider using other forms of birth control.

It is best not to take medications when they are expired!
