You can measure your blood pressure laying down-your blood pressure is normal if it is less than/equal to 120/80. Why are you measuring your nocturnal blood pressure? Are you trying to measure it while sleeping or just at night? See your doctor for guidance on what blood pressure readings they are looking for! Good luck to you!

We use the term nocturnal blood pressure to indicate the blood pressure when you are asleep. If you are awake, it is no longer considered nocturnal blood pressure but it is a nighttime blood pressure. With a device for 24 hour blood pressure monitoring, we are able to monitor noctural, supine blood pressure. For healthy people, blood pressure is lower during sleep (we name that person a dipper).
