Bronchospasm is a descriptive term for when the smaller airways are narrowed by circular muscles in response to a triggering force. Asthma/virus/inhaled exposure/ etc.. It is a description/not a diagnosis. It can persist as long as the triggering force is present. With some viral LRI's that can be a month. You may want to seek an exam to decide what your real diagnosis/triggering factor is

If you have any asthma symptoms, an evaluation and assessment of your asthma plan is indicated. The evaluation includes trigger identification, adherence to medication and other tests. A virtual consult with Healthtap is available. Avoid dust, pollen, smoke and keep a log of possible triggers. Until well controlled, symptoms may persist.
