When you have a long list of wide ranging symptoms, what is the best approach in talking to a doctor without coming across as a hypochondriac?

Prioritize: I would choose a few symptoms and discuss those, and then perhaps return for a followup to discuss others.

Many symptoms: There's nothing wrong with hypochondriasis or other somatoform disorders -- if present, they can benefit from treatment also. Your physician will do appropriate evaluations of your problems and make sure you get the best help for each. Sometimes many symptoms can simplify to 1 diagnosis, and sometimes not. Aware physicians care enough to take your complaints seriously & suggest appropriately.

Symptoms: Prepare a written list of symptoms with time of occurence and intensity, to go over them when seeing your doctor.
