I h bursitis in knee & rheumatoid arthritis. i had steroid shot. it did not help. can't the bursa be drained or does it hv 2 b a certain degree be4 it can be drained? i rub valtaren on it/no help. it hurts. what cd b next step? any suggestions? tks?

The next step would be to see your treating rheumatologist or the doc who gave you the shot to further question diagnostic ( bursitis/arthritis/ others) with imaging studies and tighten pain control. If not enough fluid, attempting draining it may be unsuccessful.
